Description

Aquipond by OASE SeDox Max is a next-generation mineral treatment with a patented formula that durably binds phosphorus in ponds and lakes. By removing the water's main nutrient, it creates conditions less favourable to algae, green water and duckweed, and helps the water body return to a stable balance.

Phosphorus, the hidden fuel behind overgrowth

In most fresh waters, phosphorus is the nutrient that sets the limit for plant growth. When there is too much of it, filamentous algae, green water, cyanobacteria and invasive plants such as duckweed have everything they need to multiply. Even when they recede, phosphorus remains stored in the sediment: it returns to the water and restarts the cycle the following season.

SeDox Max targets both reservoirs: it captures the phosphorus dissolved in the water column as well as the phosphorus released by the sludge, then converts it into a stable, insoluble mineral form. Locked away like this, the phosphorus is no longer biologically available.

Benefits for your pond or lake

  • Phosphorus durably locked away: converted into a stable mineral, it no longer feeds vegetation.
  • Acts on the sludge reserve: phosphorus released by sediment, the cause of relapses, is captured too.
  • Rebalanced C:N:P ratio: more stable, clearer water and better conditions for beneficial bacteria.
  • Fewer future outbreaks: algae, green water and duckweed find far fewer nutrients.
  • Respects the environment: compatible with the pond's fauna and flora.

Which waters is it for?

Natural ponds, private lakes, fishing ponds, estates, nature reserves, golf courses, parks, municipal waters, retention basins and wetlands. SeDox Max is particularly suited to persistent green water, algae that return every year, high phosphate levels, nutrient-rich sediment, advanced eutrophication or poor biodiversity.

A 3-part approach

SeDox Max performs best as part of an overall management plan. A high-performance surface aerator oxygenates the water, stimulates natural bacterial activity and speeds up the breakdown of organic matter. If the sediment is heavily loaded, add specialised bacteria. Follow the dosage and instructions on the packaging.

Which size for my pond?

Sizing guideline: about 5 kg per 100 m³ of water, roughly 100 m² of surface.

SizeWater volumeApprox. surface
5 kg≈ 100 m³≈ 100 m²
10 kg≈ 200 m³≈ 200 m²
25 kg≈ 500 m³≈ 500 m²

This product: three pack sizes to choose from — 5 kg for a pond of about 100 m³, 10 kg for about 200 m³ and 25 kg for about 500 m³. For an in-between volume, combine sizes (300 m³: 10 kg + 5 kg).

Good to know

  • When algae or duckweed visibly disappear, the phosphorus has not gone: treating the sediment reserve limits relapses.
  • Oxygenating the water supports the biological stability achieved.
  • Suitable for small and large waters alike, from private ponds to public sites.

Precautions: follow the doses and safety instructions given on the packaging.
