Description
Aquipond BactoClay is an ultra-fine natural clay, rich in montmorillonite, designed for koi ponds. It remineralises the water, binds certain unwanted compounds and gradually contributes to more stable, more transparent water.
How does BactoClay work?
Sourced from deep volcanic deposits, BactoClay stands out for its high montmorillonite content (around 86%), a particle size below 50 microns and high purity. This fineness allows it to disperse quickly and evenly throughout the pond. The clay acts as a mineral carrier: it binds certain unwanted compounds (including heavy metals), reduces suspended particles and helps stabilise water parameters. The captured particles are then retained by the filtration.

How to use
Dilute the dose in a bucket of water, then spread it evenly over the pond. Slight cloudiness may appear: this is the suspended clay capturing impurities. The water clears within a few hours to 24 hours, depending on the filtration and organic load.
How much for my pond?
Dosage: 10 to 20 g per m³ (1,000 litres) per week.

This size: 2 kg, i.e. 1 to 2 weeks of treatment for 100 m³, or 10 to 20 weeks for a 10 m³ pond.

- Compatible with drum filters, gravity-fed systems and high-flow installations: the clay circulates without disrupting equipment.
- For advanced users: adding a low dose to the feed (1 to 5%) can be considered.
