Description
Aquipond Clearwater is a pond clarifier that durably binds suspended matter and phosphates. The aggregates formed are retained by the filter: cloudy water, whether brown, green or milky, quickly regains its clarity.
How does Clearwater work?
Fine suspended particles pass through the filter and cloud the water. Clearwater clumps them, together with phosphates, into larger aggregates that the filter retains effectively. By binding phosphates, it also limits the nutrients algae feed on.
Illustrative diagram. Results depend on the filtration working properly and on the load of the pond.
Benefits for your pond
- Clear water fast: works on brown, green or milky water.
- Phosphates durably bound: fewer nutrients available to algae.
- Optimised mechanical filtration: the aggregates are retained by the filter.
- Harmless to plants and wildlife in the pond.
How to use
Before treatment, test the water, especially KH and GH, and check that the filtration and aeration are in good order. Then switch off the filtration for 5 minutes maximum: never stop it for longer. Calculate the exact dose for the volume, dilute it at least 10 times with water and spread it over the whole pond surface with a watering can. Finally, remove any waste that has accumulated on the bottom or surface, then restart the filtration and aerate well.
Avoid in the presence of sturgeon. Clearwater is a flocculant: do not use it in a pond that holds sturgeon.
Which size for my pond?
Both versions come in a 500 ml bottle. Clearwater 25 m³ is a more concentrated formula: the same volume treats 2.5 times more water.
| Version | Contents | Volume treated | Dose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clearwater 10 m³ | 500 ml | up to 10 m³ | ≈ 50 ml/m³ |
| Clearwater 25 m³ (concentrated) | 500 ml | up to 25 m³ | ≈ 20 ml/m³ |
Calculate the dose carefully: 2 to 3 treatments per year maximum, with at least 2 months between two treatments.
| Pond volume | Recommended size |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 m³ | 1 × Clearwater 10 m³ |
| 11 to 25 m³ | 1 × Clearwater 25 m³ |
| 26 to 35 m³ | 1 × 25 m³ + 1 × 10 m³ |
| 36 to 50 m³ | 2 × Clearwater 25 m³ |
This size: 500 ml bottle – treats up to 10 m³ (≈ 50 ml/m³).

Good to know
- Avoid in the presence of sturgeon: Clearwater is a flocculant.
- Never switch off the filtration for more than 5 minutes.
- Large amounts of debris may be retained in the filter or on the pond bottom: clean the filter and reseed with Aquipond Bacto Maintenance.
- The normal rise in bacterial activity that follows can lower oxygen levels, which is dangerous for fish.
- Avoid treating if dissolved oxygen is already low: hot weather, storms, non-compliant installations.
Precautions: harmful if swallowed. Irritating to eyes and mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
