Aquipond Algibio 5 kg – Natural pond bacteria that limit nutrients (1,000 m²)

Aquipond Algibio is an inert powder inoculated with 6 bacterial strains that adds an active biomass to your natural pond. These bacteria compete with filamentous algae for nutrients and break down nitrates and phosphates: algae find less favourable conditions and the water becomes clearer.

Competition for nutrients

Filamentous algae feed on the nitrates and phosphates dissolved in the water. Algibio supplies a bacterial biomass (genera Bacillus, Pseudomonas and Enterobacter) that consumes these same nutrients and breaks them down biologically. Fewer nutrients available means an environment less favourable to algae.
