OASE SubFlo Base 4 D – Underwater aerator for lakes and large deep ponds (2 to 10 m, up to 16,000 m²)

OASE SubFlo Base 4 D is the most powerful underwater aerator in the SubFlo range, designed for lakes and large deep ponds from 2 to 10 m. From the bank, it supplies 3 to 4 diffusers placed on the bottom: their ultra-fine bubbles oxygenate the deep water and circulate the entire water column, on water bodies up to 16,000 m² depending on their depth and shape.

All-in-one: the SubFlo 4 D pack combines this base, 4 diffusers and the required tubing.

Why aerate from the bottom?

In summer, a deep water body separates into layers: warm, oxygenated water at the surface; cold water at the bottom that becomes depleted of oxygen. Organic matter decomposes poorly there: sludge builds up, gases such as hydrogen sulphide and methane form, and the nutrients released keep feeding algae. By injecting air at the bottom, SubFlo breaks up this stratification: oxygen reaches where it is lacking and the bacteria that digest organic matter regain good working conditions.

What SubFlo changes in your water body

• Oxygen at the bottom: the ultra-fine bubbles maximise gas exchange and distribute oxygen evenly.
• The entire water column circulated: the rising bubbles mix bottom water with surface water and break up thermal stratification.
• Fewer harmful gases: the circulation helps release the hydrogen sulphide, methane and CO₂ produced at the bottom.
• Natural breakdown of organic matter: in oxygenated water, aerobic bacteria digest deposits more effectively. Over time, less sludge and fewer nutrients available to algae.
• Nothing visible on the surface: no fountain or float, and a sound-insulated base on the bank.

Which SubFlo base for my water body?

Indicative surface areas provided by OASE; they vary according to the depth and shape of the water body.

Build your installation

1. The base: SubFlo Base 4 D, installed on the bank, in a dry spot, near a 230 V socket.
2. The diffusers: 3 or 4 SubFlo Diffuser D, supplied empty and weighted on site with gravel or sand.
3. One length of weighted tubing per diffuser: each diffuser is connected to the base by its own length of SubFlo Tubing H, cut from a 30 m or 150 m roll. The tubing sinks to the bottom on its own.
4. From the base to the water's edge: UV-resistant SubFlo Tubing L 30 m, if the base is located away from the edge.

Key features of the SubFlo Base 4 D

• Pre-installed SAD 200 compressor: constant air flow up to 200 L/min, designed for continuous operation.
• Adjustable distribution blocks: the flow to each diffuser can be adjusted individually, to balance aeration between the different areas of the water body.
• Robust, sound-insulated housing: it protects the compressor, with a filtered air intake and a built-in cooling fan that extends its service life.
• 10 m cable, durable materials, low maintenance and simple installation.

Scope of delivery: the base with its pre-installed SAD 200 compressor and its air distribution blocks. Diffusers and tubing are sold separately, or combined in the SubFlo 4 D pack.
