OASE SubFlo Base 4 S – Underwater aerator for shallow ponds (up to 2 m, 2,000 m²)

OASE SubFlo Base 4 S is an underwater aerator for shallow ponds, pools and water bodies up to 2 m deep, such as golf course or park water features. From the bank, it supplies 2 to 4 diffusers placed on the bottom: their ultra-fine bubbles oxygenate the water and gently circulate it, on water bodies up to 2,000 m² depending on their depth and shape. All for just 160 W.

All-in-one: the SubFlo 4 S pack combines this base, 4 diffusers and the required tubing.

Why aerate a shallow pond?

A shallow pond warms up quickly. In summer, warm water holds less oxygen, and at night plants and algae consume oxygen instead of producing it: oxygen shortage is at its worst in the early morning. At the bottom, organic matter then decomposes poorly, sludge builds up and the nutrients released keep feeding algae. By injecting air at the bottom, SubFlo delivers oxygen where it is lacking, day and night, and keeps all the water in the pond circulating.

What SubFlo changes in your pond

• Oxygen at the bottom: the ultra-fine bubbles maximise gas exchange and distribute oxygen evenly.
• Gentle circulation of all the water: no more stagnant areas, more stable water quality.
• Fewer harmful gases: the circulation helps release the hydrogen sulphide, methane and CO₂ produced at the bottom.
• Natural breakdown of organic matter: in oxygenated water, aerobic bacteria digest deposits more effectively. Over time, less sludge and fewer nutrients available to algae.
• Nothing visible on the surface: no fountain or float, and a sound-insulated base on the bank.

Which SubFlo base for my water body?

Indicative surface areas provided by OASE; they vary according to the depth and shape of the water body. For depths over 2 m, choose a SubFlo Base 2 D or 4 D.

Build your installation

1. The base: SubFlo Base 4 S, installed on the bank, in a dry spot, near a 230 V socket.
2. The diffusers: 2 to 4 SubFlo Diffuser S, supplied empty and weighted on site with gravel or sand.
3. One length of weighted tubing per diffuser: each diffuser is connected to the base by its own length of SubFlo Tubing H, cut from a 30 m or 150 m roll. The tubing sinks to the bottom on its own.
4. From the base to the water's edge: UV-resistant SubFlo Tubing L 30 m, if the base is located away from the edge.
