Description
The OASE SubFlo 4 S pack brings together all the equipment to aerate a shallow pond, pool or water feature up to 2 m deep from the bottom, over up to 2,000 m² depending on its depth and shape. A base installed on the bank, 4 diffusers placed on the bottom and the tubing to connect them: a complete installation that uses only 160 W.

How the installation is laid out

- The base on the bank: the SubFlo Base 4 S is installed in a dry spot, near a 230 V socket. Its SAS 240 compressor delivers up to 240 L of air per minute for 160 W, continuously.
- From the base to the water's edge: the Tubing L. UV-resistant and low-friction, it carries air from the base to the edge of the pond, over a maximum of 30 m.
- From the water's edge to the diffusers: the Tubing H. Weighted, it sinks on its own and stays on the bottom. The roll is cut into one length per diffuser, matched to the distance of each.
- On the bottom: 4 SubFlo Diffuser S, supplied empty and weighted on site with gravel or sand. They release air as ultra-fine bubbles along their entire length for gentle circulation of all the water.

Why aerate a shallow pond?
A shallow pond warms up quickly. In summer, warm water holds less oxygen, and at night plants and algae consume oxygen instead of producing it: oxygen shortage is at its worst in the early morning. At the bottom, organic matter then decomposes poorly, sludge builds up and the nutrients released keep feeding algae. With 4 aeration points on the bottom, SubFlo delivers oxygen where it is lacking, day and night, and keeps all the water in the pond circulating.

Aeration creates the conditions; bacteria do the work. Combine SubFlo with Aquipond Bactovase to digest accumulated sludge, and check the KH of the water: below 7 °dH, mineralise first with Aquipond Nautex.
